WINDSOR, N.C. (WNCT) — Bertie County Schools now has a new apartment complex just for teachers. The building first broke ground last June.
Less than a year ago the apartment building was an empty lot on Martin Luther King Drive, full of potential and hope. Now, officials said that they are seeing the dream come true at Dream Point Apartments.
School system officials said the goal for these apartments is twofold: to recruit new teachers and keep current teachers in the county. Bertie County Schools officials said that they hope to have teachers moving in this July.
