8 Movies That Killed Their Franchise (& Why)

Occasionally, there have been movies that left such a bad mark that they killed the franchises they were a part of. With dismal audiences and critical reception, or just simply franchise fatigue, these were movies that underperformed to such an extent that the studios decided to just outright cancel already announced upcoming projects. While all the movies that killed their franchises weren’t so bad that they were unwatchable, they did, for one reason or another, ensure that the plug was pulled on the entire series.
