Week 8 Preview: Sharks vs Oilers

Sharks Look For First Win

The Jacksonville Sharks (0-5) remain winless as they go into Week 8 in the IFL (Indoor Football League).  Jacksonville will play the Tulsa Oilers (3-2) for the first time at BOK Center on Friday, May 3rd.

The Oilers are coming off a road win against the Quad City Steamwheelers. The game was high scoring with a final score of 72-59, the most points Tulsa has scored in a single game in Oilers history.  Quarterback Daniel Smith also set a franchise record for rushing touchdowns in a single game with five .

The Sharks are coming off a 35-55 loss against the Arizona Rattlers. Jacksonville started off the first half strong, scoring on their first drive and going 40 yards in six plays. The Sharks led by two at the end of the first. That would be the Sharks only lead for the rest of the game as the Rattlers scored a final second touchdown to take the lead at the half. The plentaties started piling up for the Sharks in the second half. Jacksonville had 11 penalties for a total loss of 73 yards. QB Fred Payton Jr. threw for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Kick returner DJ Stubbs made his IFL debut and was selected as the IFL's Special Teams Player of the week with five returns for 184 yards and one touchdown,

After a very short week, the Sharks are hungry for their first win of the season in Tulsa tomorrow night. Kick off is at 8:05 PM.
