Gerteisen, Moore Assisted in Three-Run Seventh Inning
North Florida baseball (20-23, 10-12 ASUN) came back down two runs in the seventh inning and escaped a bases-loaded ninth inning to complete the road comeback against Kennesaw State (24-20, 14-8 ASUN), 4-3, on Friday evening.
The Ospreys jumped out front first in the second inning after an RBI double from Cade Bush scored Cherokee Nichols for the one-run lead. After falling back down by two runs, Tyler Gerteisen responded in the seventh with a game-tying two-run RBI single, followed with Connor Moore's go-ahead RBI double the next pitch.
Peter Holden had an ace-like performance with six innings pitched and eight strikeouts, while only allowing two earned runs on 117 pitches. Jordan Wimpelberg kept the Owls at bay for just under three innings, as Zane Starling came in and rung up the last out looking with the bases loaded.
