Polk County sheriff to discuss ‘largest seizure of fentanyl’ in county history

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd is set to host a news conference on Friday morning to discuss a recent drug-trafficking investigation.

According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation involved a trafficking ring bringing fentanyl from Mexico into Polk County and other parts of Florida.

The sheriff’s office announced that the operation ended with several arrests and “the largest seizure of fentanyl in Polk County history.”

During Friday’s conference, Judd is expected to be joined by Attorney General Ashley Moody, State Attorney Brian Haas of the 10th Judicial Circuit, and Florida Department of Law Enforcement Commissioner Lee Massie.

The conference is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. and will be held at the PCSO Sheriff’s Operation Center in Winter Haven.
