Vegas Remains Undefeated With 61-35 Win Over Jacksonville

Football action returned to Jacksonville Florida on Saturday as the Jacksonville Sharks brought Indoor Football League Week 6 action to the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena against the undefeated Vegas Knight Hawks.  The game saw Quentin Randolph as the shining star with three touchdown catches. Vegas kept their unbeaten record intact at 4-0 And the Sharks winless at 0-4.

Vegas scored early on the scoreboard when quarterback Ja'Rome Johnson ran it in for six. Jacksonville quickly responded when recently signed quarterback Fred Payton Jr. passed to Kamrin Solomon, giving the Sharks an early 7-6 lead. Ja'Rome kept the offense going by throwing a 40-yard pass to Caleb Holley and then a quick pass in the back of the endzone. Vegas took the lead back 13-7. Payton Jr. showed that he isn't the only dual-threat QB in the game today and gave JAX the lead again 14-13.

The second quarter started with two great runs from Antonio Wimbush before CJ Windham's touchdown catch gave Vegas back the lead, 20-14. The Sharks missed their field goal attempt, and Jacksonville Head Coach Jason Gibson was assessed a personal foul and removed from the game. After converting a fourth-down play near the endzone, Vegas padded their lead with a Quentin Randolph touchdown catch. The first half ended with both teams trading scoring drives, and the score was 34-21.

Jacksonville cut the Vegas lead to 34-27 following a Payton to Solomon touchdown pass. Johnson answered quickly with his second touchdown run of the game, raising the score to 41-27. Payton Jr. showed off his elusiveness and scored himself, and after Jacksonville converted the 2-Point try, the Vegas lead was cut to six-points, 41-35. Not to be left out of the scoring barrage, Antonio Wimbush ran in his first of the game giving Vegas a two-score lead, 47-35.

The fourth quarter began with the Knight Hawks defense standing tall and forcing a turnover on downs. The offense then took the ball and marched down the field, setting Wimbush up for his second score of the game. On Jacksonville's next possession, they took the ball downfield only for their drive to end with a Bryce Hampton interception. In the waning minutes of the game, Randolph caught his third touchdown of the game. The game ended with a 61-35 Knight Hawks win.
