Jaguars pick LSU WR Brian Thomas Jr. in Round 1

The Jacksonville Jaguars have made a decision to add a new player to their team. They selected Brian Thomas Jr., a wide receiver from Louisiana State University (LSU), with the No. 23 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Thomas has played for the Tigers for three seasons, and in 2023, he was part of one of the strongest offenses in college football. He also played alongside another first-round draft pick receiver, Malik Nabers. If you want to get to know more about Thomas, here's everything you need to know.

Thomas, a 6-foot-4 and 225-pound wide receiver from Walker, Louisiana, possesses a unique combination of size, speed, and high-pointing ability that enables him to create mismatches with cornerbacks. During his time at LSU, Thomas was known for his ability to make big plays, taking advantage of the opportunities that came his way, while Nabers, his teammate, was the more polished route runner.

In his junior season, Thomas had a breakout performance, amassing 1,177 yards, which was almost double his production from the previous two seasons combined. He finished his collegiate career at LSU with one of his best performances, catching eight passes in the ReliaQuest Bowl.

Thomas impressed NFL scouts and onlookers alike during the Indianapolis combine, where he ran a 4.33 40-yard dash, one of the best times this year. He also recorded a 10-foot, 6-inch broad jump and a 38.5-inch vertical, further showcasing his athleticism and potential as a receiver at the professional level.
