UCF blasts off in second half, soars past Houston during space-themed game
After a SLOW Start it was all systems Go for the UCF Knights on Saturday as Spectrum Stadium was packed for the Space Game between University of Houston and the University of Central Florida and Wright Smith was in Orlando Florida with My4oh7 as the UCF Football took off in the 2nd half to beat the Cougars 44-29.
On a HOT and Sunny Saturday, when the Knights celebrated their connection to NASA with space themed-uniforms, quarterback Dillon Gabriel accounted for four touchdowns, including a 22-yard run, as the Knights rallied from a 10-point first-half deficit to earn a 44-29 win over Houston Saturday.
Gabriel set the school’s single-season passing record for a freshman along the way, leap-frogging Ryan Schneider (2,334 yards, 2000) midway through the second quarter. The true freshman finished with 298 passing yards and now has 2,516 yards on the season.
