LIVE RADAR: Severe Thunderstorm Warning for 4 Central Florida counties

Scattered rain and thunderstorms are rolling through parts of Central Florida.

A Tornado Warning for Seminole and part of Orange County was canceled.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 8 p.m. for East Central Lake, Central Orange, Seminole and South Central Volusia counties.

There is also an Airport Weather Warning until 7:45 p.m. for Orlando International Airport and Orlando Executive Airport. The FAA has issued a Ground Stop for MCO until 8:45 p.m., with an average departure delay of 90 minutes.

It’s been a toasty day, with daytime highs reaching the upper 90s and feeling like 102-106.

Heat index

There is a “marginal risk” for several counties, where strong to severe thunderstorms could develop, producing winds of 40-60 mph, heavy rain fall, quarter-sized hail and an isolated tornado.

The wet weather is expected to gradually come to an end in the evening.

Future Radar

Overnight temperatures are expected to fall into the upper 70s under partly cloudy skies.

Friday brings more heat and moderate storm chances.

Heading into the weekend, both Saturday and Sunday afternoon highs are expected to be near-record heat.
