SEED FOOD & WINE WEEK STARTS THURSDAY

The Original Plant-Based Festival Returns to Miami November 7-10, 2019

November is World Vegan Month and what better way to kick it off than by enjoying unlimited eats and drinks at the 6th Annual SEED Food & Wine Week (SEED) from Thursday, November 7 to Sunday, November 10, 2019. The original plant-based festival returns to Miami, with four full days of events focused on sustainable, conscious living. Among this year’s notable talent: Joy Bauer MS, RDN, National Dietitian for LaCroix Sparkling Water, healthy lifestyle expert, celebrity TV chef, and #1 New York Times best-selling author; Jules AronSEED’s Mixology Director who is curating the festival’s beverage program, including pairings and zero-proof cocktails; and supermodel Karolina Kurkova. Nationally and locally renowned chefs include: Ilan Hall (Ramen Hood/Los Angeles); Michael Beltran (Ariete and Chug’s); Steve Santana (Taquiza Tacos); and many more.

This free event is dedicated to early-stage and emerging companies that are developing innovative solutions for improving the food, beverage and agriculture industry locally, regionally and nationally. With over $10,000 in perks and prize money up for grabs, participants will pitch an esteemed panel along with a room of the most prominent venture capitalists, angel investors, incubators and accelerators from around the country.

 

5th ANNUAL PLANT BASED BURGER BATTLE™

Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 7PM-10PM

$70 General Admission; $100 VIP Admission (one hour earlier than the General Public 6PM)

Location: Jungle Plaza in Miami Design District, 3801 NE 1st Avenue, Miami

Chefs, restaurants, and national brands from across the country will be competing for the title of “Best Veggie Burger in America” with this year’s competitors including: Meta Burger (Denver), Shouk (Washington, DC), Plant Miami, Vegan Junkie, Planta, and more. Bubbly brews are the perfect accompaniment to burgers, and attendees will be able to sample a selection of craft beers and kombucha from Florida and around the country.

Over 10 participating restaurants including some local favorites like Taquiza Tacos, Charly’s Vegan Tacos, Coyo Taco, Love Life Café, Bodega Taqueria y Tequila, and Parlour Bakery. Each restaurant will be paired with a local mixologist making craft cocktails that complement each featured taco.

 

ROOTS: A FARM TO TABLE DINNER

Chef Allen Susser is hosting the evening where chefs partner with farmers to celebrate the farm to table culture. The night starts with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a five-course dinner with wine pairings.

SEED FESTIVAL DAY TASTING VILLAGE

This family-friendly event will feature local, regional and national chefs, restaurants, and exhibitors. The large-scale grand tasting features food, wine, a craft beer garden, juice, music, gifts, organic body care, and clothing. Some noteworthy restaurants include L.A.’s popular Ramen Hood; Vegan Nom (Austin); Avo (Nashville); and Dixie Dharma (locations throughout Florida). Festival attendees can eat, drink and learn at the Tasting Village’s Whole Foods® Culinary Stage with cooking demonstrations highlighting recipes that can easily be replicated at home. LaCroix Sparkling Water presents Joy Bauer as one of the premier presenters along with other popular clean-living chefs. The Baptist Health Summit Stage will feature a variety of authors and wellness experts including Neal Barnard, M.D. author of The Vegan Starter Kit.
