Mandarin Handles Winter Park And Advances To Round 3
The Mandarin High School Mustangs traveled down to Winter Park, Florida on Friday Night for Round 2 of the Florida High School Athletic Association Playoffs against the Winter Park High School WIldcats and Craig Mackay was in Orlando, Florida with CEM Photography and My4oh7 as the Mustang defense was NO Match for the Wildcats.
Carson Beck tossed TD’s to Kris Mitchell and Demario Douglas starting off a 1st half to lead 27-0. and never looked back. Beck added a TD pass to Kas Absolu in the third quarter and rushed for a 3-yard score in the fourth as Mandarin had no such difficulty in shredding the Wildcats (10-2).
The third-seeded Mustangs have outscored their first two playoff opponents to the tune of 76-8. Darian Oxendine intercepted three Winter Park passes while Douglas intercepted a pass and finished with six receptions for 121 yards and a touchdown for the Mustangs. Beck passed for 274 yards and three touchdowns.
The Mustangs will travel to face top-seeded Apopka Wekvia (11-1) in next Friday’s regional final. Mandarin’s only other regional final appearance came in 2015.
