LockedIN On Arena Football Sept 18

The Good, The Bad and Arena Football

Is it REALLY time to be talking ARENA FOOTBALL ? Feels like the Arena Football League, the National Arena League, the American Arena League and other leagues just ended and HERE WE GO, its time to think about the indoor game!

Rumors are RAMPANT that the American Arena League is FINALLY Over! Talks of Law Suits, Misappropriation of Funds and General Stupidity from the League and Owners have finally sealed the fate of the league and from LockedIN Magazine, it couldn’t come any sooner.

There is MUCH talk about some new teams in the Arena Football League(AFL) and the National Arena League(NAL) and NOTHING is concrete as of RIGHT NOW. You can almost pencil in Cleveland returning to the AFL and maybe Tampa in the NAL, but time will tell.

The Jacksonville Sharks kicked off the off season today SHOCKING the Arena Sports Fan world. Following a dominant 15-1 NAL Championship season in 2019, Jacksonville Sharks Defensive Coordinator James Fuller has been promoted to Head Coach. In his first season with the Sharks Coach Fuller helped build one of the best defenses in the NAL. Boasting the most interceptions, sacks, fumble recoveries, interceptions for touchdowns, and largest turnover margin during the 2019 season.

Per a press release today the Sharks stated, “the 2019’s NAL Coach of the Year Siaha Burley was unable to come to terms for a contract extension, and with the free-agent signing period beginning, the Sharks organization chose to move on.”

Over in the AFL, The  Arena Football League (AFL) announced Bob Bulman as the new Chief Operating Officer (C.O.O.) of the Albany Empire. Bulman will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Empire as the League transitions to a single entity model, assumes control of each team and moves executives to the League office from teams previously managed by Trifecta Sports and Entertainment. Former Empire C.O.O. and President of Trifecta Sports & Entertainment, George Manias, who architected the launch and building of the Empire culminating in an ArenaBowl Championship this past season, has been appointed Vice President of Team Services for the AFL.
Bulman joins the Empire after serving as C.O.O. of Mohawk Valley Garden, the parent company overseeing the Adirondack Bank Center, Utica Comets (AHL) and Utica City FC (MASL). During his tenure, the Utica Comets garnered the AHL Eastern Conference Community Service Award, and Utica City FC was the recipient of the MASL Earl Forman Awards for Organization of the Year, Best Branding Theme, and Best Social Media.

The Empire will be hosting an open call tryout on Sunday, November 10, 2019 for those interested in becoming a member of the Albany Empresses, Empire Dance Team.  Auditions will be held at the Albany Capital Center at 55 Eagle Street, Albany NY 12207. Registration for the audition is at 8:30 a.m. and the audition begins promptly at 9:30 a.m.  The auditions are open to high school graduates of at least 18 years of age with any dance experience.  For questions regarding further information on the auditions, please contact Reghan Bailey, Gameday Operations Manager – RBailey@TheAlbanyEmpire.com.
