LockedIN On Arena Football July 26

The Good, The Bad And The Playoffs

Its Friday and Its time to talk about Arena Football! The National Arena League is heading into the last week of the Regular Season and their playoffs are set, and the Arena Football League is about to start their playoffs. With all this Great PLAYOFF football talk, why do the drama queens have to bring negative thoughts in about the American Arena League.

Starting off in the Arena Football League this week, the League  announced the schedule, times and hosts for the 2019 playoffs. The playoffs will take place over two weekends: July 27-28, and August 3-4. Information about AFL playoff matchups and structure can be found here. The Seeds are: Albany Empire (#1), Washington Valor (#2), Philadelphia Soul (#3), Baltimore Brigade (#4)

The Baltimore Brigade defeated the Atlantic City Blackjacks last weekend, 35-28, after a back-and-forth fourth quarter at the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall to close the regular season Sunday afternoon. The Brigade finished the regular season 7-5 and enter the 2019 AFL playoffs as the fourth seed to take on the number one seed Albany Empire (10-2) for the home-and-home playoff series. Baltimore will play the first game of the series at Times Union Center on Saturday, July 27 at 7:00 p.m. and will host the Empire for the second game of the series on Saturday, August 3 at 7 p.m. at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, MD. The team with the highest aggregate score will advance to the ArenaBowl held on Sunday, August 11 at 8:00 p.m.

The Arena Football League has announced the Week 13 Players of the Week:

OFFENSIVE: Kyle Rowley | QB, Columbus Destroyers

In what was his first Arena Football game since 2015, Columbus Destroyers QB, Kyle Rowley, earned the Week 13 Offensive Player of the Week honors. Rowley threw for 253 yards and five touchdowns in the Destroyers narrow 56-50 loss to the Valor to end the season. Rowley led the Destroyers to their second-most points scored this year (most, 54 on 6/7 @ A.C. Blackjacks).

His last appearance came during a playoff game with the Portland Thunder on 8/14/15. After his appearance with the Destroyers, Rowley is a nine-year veteran of the AFL.

DEFENSIVE: Darryl Cato-Bishop | DL, Baltimore Brigade

Darryl Cato-Bishop (DL, Baltimore Brigade) had a strong performance in Week 13, earning him the honors of Week 13 Defensive Player of the Week. Cato-Bishop was instrumental in the Week 13 matchup in Atlantic City, contributing two sacks for a loss of 11 yards, and oneforced fumble in the Brigade’s 35-28 win over the Blackjacks. Cato-Bishop was one of the top defensive linemen in the League this season: he led the League in total sacks (7.5, 6 of which were solo) and ranked second in forced fumbles (4) and total tackles for loss (8).

National Arena League Action returned to Orlando, Florida Friday Night as the Columbus Lions came to town to take on the Orlando Predators and Terry Harger was inside the Amway Center With My4oh7 Keeping our Arena Fans #LockedIN.

And what a game it was! First off, our thoughts and prayers are with Columbus Lions  AJ Harmon who was hurt during the game! A quick recovery sir.

Now as for the game, are the Columbus Lions not as good as we thought or did the Orlando Predators STEP UP Last night. The Dagger to the game was the Former Predator QB and now signal caller for the Lions  Bryan Hicks taking control last night.

The Game did hit overtime, and congratulations to Jason Gibson and the Lions on their win. With that win, the Predators are eliminated from the National Arena League playoffs and the teams are LOCKED. CLICK HERE for Facebook Pictures and then  CLICK HERE for HI RES Pictures!

This weekend the Orlando Predators return to Jacksonville Florida to take on the Sharks hoping to end their 2019 season with a Win, and the Sharks are looking to extend their winning streak to 12. There is really NOTHING for the Sharks to play for other then bragging rights, so DO NOT expect to see the FULL Onslaught from the Sharks.

The NY Streets take their act on the Road to face the Massachusetts Pirates and again, with nothing to play for, lets just hope for a good game.

The 2019 Playoffs start Next weekend and LockedIN Magazine will be there.

The Massachusetts Pirates have placed WR Tavares Martin Jr., Washington State, on Short Term Injured Reserve. The Pirates also signed and activated free agent WR Rannell Hall, University of Central Florida as they get ready to face the NY Streets on Saturday Night.

The Pirates have clinched the third seed in the upcoming National Arena League playoffs and will face the defending league champion Carolina Cobras in Greensboro the weekend of August 3. The official date and time have not yet been announced.
The New York Streets are on a nine game losing streak and have been eliminated from the playoff picture.

Massachusetts leads the all-time series three games to none. The Pirates won the first ever meeting in White Plains on May 27, (70-51), the June 1 contest (68-53) in Worcester and the July 5th meeting in New York, (54-52).

Last weekends game  between the NY Streets and Carolina Cobras was called at the half with the Cobras leading 46-0 due to a BREAK IN to the locker rooms  at the Westchester County Center. The Cobras players have had stuff taken out of their locker room and security is working to fix this problem. Since it was the last HOME game of the year for the Street, we assume this will be fixed for next year. The NAL has not issued a statement yet, but they are working on security issues at this time.

Now over in the American Arena League, things are happening. The RUMOR mill can’t get enough at the moment and seems the NEED to create News! With all these BREAKING NEWS and EXCLUSIVE REPORTS coming in from these sites that want to be HEARD, the REAL news is drowned out.

That is cause there is NO REAL NEWS at the MOMENT. Its funny that these reporters seem to find the need to make up things! When I was a kid I wanted to be a firefighter.. THANK GOD I didn’t start fires to get the FEEL of it.  LOL. Guys.. if you have nothing REAL to report.. Shut UP!
