LockedIN On Arena Football July 11

Are You Ready For Some Football

It’s Thursday and teams are in route to their destinations for Friday Night Football an LockedIN Magazine wants to STOP and check in with what happened last weekend and how this weeks games are shaping up. Tons going on in the National Arena League and the Arena Football League, while the American Arena League works towards next year.

The Arena Game of the Week has the Jacksonville Sharks traveling to Worcester Massachusetts to take on the Massachusetts Pirates. Both teams have been HOT the last few weeks. The Sharks winning 10 games in a row and the Pirates are in the middle of their  6 game winning streak.

Last week, the Sharks were able to force eight total turnovers against the Predators, seven of which were interceptions, with Seth Ellis leading the team with a season best three interceptions against Orlando.

When comparing the two teams and their impressive win-streaks, the Sharks have the Pirates beat when it comes to Scoring Offense (55.2-48.9), Scoring Defense (32.4-46.5), Kicking Points (8.2-7.6), Total Offense (258.8-216.5), Total Defense (192.5-250.5), Pass Offense (238.5-192.7), Pass Defense (175.7-239.5), Interceptions Thrown (10-12), Interceptions Forced (25-13), Fumbles Recovered (10-2), and Sacks (28-20).

It’s going to be a dog fight but look for the Sharks to win this 55-50.

The NY Streets travel to Columbus Georgia to take on the Columbus Lions in a game that both teams NEED to win. The Street, (3-8) lost last week on a last second field goal, but played well enough to win. On the other side, the Lions were manhandled by the Carolina Cobras, and lost 70-28.

Look for a HIGH Scoring game with the Street taking the game 60-50.

The last game of the week in the NAL has the Orlando Predators traveling to the Snake Pit to take on the Carolina Cobras and the Cobras are hungry and the Predators will be LUNCH. Look for a better show from the Preds this week after several moves, but the Cobras are just to strong of a team.

Cobras BIG over the Preds.

NAL Notes-

The Orlando Predators resigned Nick Jakelsky for the remainder of the season

The Carolina Cobras activated Breontae Matthews

Over in the Arena Football League.

The Arena Football League announced today that Rob Keefe, Head Coach of the Albany Empire, was fined $3,500 for his conduct during, and after, the Philadelphia-Albany game on June 29th.

It was reported to the League that both during and following the game, Coach Keefe engaged in verbal altercations with Philadelphia Soul players. Following these reports, the League conducted a thorough review of the matter and subsequently determined that Coach Keefe’s conduct and interactions with the Soul’s athletes were not consistent with League standards.

AFL Commissioner Randall Boe said, “Coach Keefe is a talented coach and important to both his team and the Arena Football League. But the League simply cannot tolerate the kind of conduct by that was exhibited during and after the Albany-Philadelphia game—particularly by a coach in this League.”
