The Latest Look At Arena Football
It’s Thursday and LockedIN Magazine is checking out the latest news in Arena Football. Some Interesting things going on and with the NFL in the last month of the season, all eyes are turning towards the indoor game. The Arena Football League, The National Arena League, The American Arena League and the A-League are coming and some people are excited.
Kicking off in the American Arena League, a HUGE announcement was made yesterday, and to some the news makes a ton of sense, to others to becomes a lot to deal with. CLICK HERE to see the FULL Announcement.
The league has divided itself into 2 divisions with the creation of the AAL Northern Division which will cover the east coast states of West Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. The AAL Northern Division will consist of two returning AAL teams; the New Jersey Flight and the West Virginia Roughriders. They will be joined by New England Bobcats and the Pittsburgh Defenders. One of the league’s goals is to limit long distance travel. The AAL North is a product of this commitment. To limit travel, teams will be scheduled to play within their division.
The AAL Southern Division will consists of eight teams to include seven returning AAL teams the; High Country Grizzlies, Charlotte Energy, Cape Fear Heroes, Carolina Havoc, Peach State Cats, Georgia Doom, and Carolina Cowboys. They are joined by the South Carolina Predators.
If all goes as planned the league should have some interesting games with a Championship game with the HAVOC and ROUGHRIDERS playing for the TITLE.

Over in the National Arena League, we are still waiting on word from the League on the Orlando expansion. Rumors of issues with the lease of Amway Center seem to be running around. However, The Columbus Lions keep adding top tier talent to their roster, this time by the way of former SEC Defensive Lineman JT Surratt and veteran Wide Receiver Shawn Mitchell. The pair have each come to terms with the Lions organization for the 2019 season in hopes of helping carry the Lions to their 5th consecutive championship appearance.
JT Surratt (6’2, 290 – South Carolina) is a familiar name to many SEC fans, as he starred on the University of South Carolina defensive line next to Jadeveon Clowney. Surratt comes to Columbus with previous arena experience, after spending a stint out west with the Arizona Rattlers.
The A-League has been quiet since announcing the 2019 teams back in September, and emails to the league have not been RETURNED.
From the looks at the Arena Football League site, no news seems to be good news. The BIG BAD League looks LOST.
So what what would Arena Football players want for the Holidays? Maybe some Good News from the league about what is to come…
This looks like an interesting Year!
