LockedIN on Arena Football

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly About Arena Football

Happy Humpday Football Fans! LockedIN Magazine is enjoying the week so far and we are gearing up for yet Another Big Week of Arena Football. With the Arena Football League(AFL), the National Arena League(NAL), the American Arena League(AAL) and the A-League kicking off this weekend… Its going to be run right down the Middle.

So where to start? The Lack of communication from the A-league? When you want to get the word out about your league and the games, sometimes you have to be able to talk to people. The A-League is lacking in the communication area. Their games are this weekend.. But… they have  NOT responded AT ALL.

Over in the NAL,

After suffering a 55-36 loss against the Jacksonville Sharks last week, the Massachusetts Pirates (1-3) look to capture their second victory of the season against the Columbus Lions (1-2). The task ahead won’t be easy though, as the Lions are coming off of a 66 point performance while picking up their first win of the year against the Orlando Predators. The Pirates will need to bring their “A” game into Columbus in order to tame the Lions.

It took a couple of weeks, but the Columbus Lions (1-2) finally notched their first win of the young NAL season when they defeated the Orlando Predators (1-3) 63-22 Saturday night.

The Carolina Cobras are visiting the Jacksonville Sharks on Saturday night, and the UNDEFEATED Cobras have the feel of a team playing together. Last week, The Cobras (3-0) defeated the previously undefeated New York Streets (2-1) 48-33 to take sole possession of first place in the National Arena League. The Sharks are looking to even the year at 2-2.

Over in the AFL,

The Baltimore Brigade have made Friday May 10ths game at Royal Farms Arena against the Columbus Destroyers, The annual “Kid’s Game”!  Every ticket you purchase at the Royal Farms Arena box office, you will get one ticket free. Offer is only available this Friday, May 10 at Royal Farms Arena Box Office. There will no limit on the number of tickets that qualify.

Your Kids will be incorporated into many of the interactive events before and during the game. During halftime, we will have a special kid-themed contest called “Clean Up Our Room!” where kids will be challenged with cleaning up items off the turf and getting ready for school with Brigade inspired clothing. Additionally, fans can submit pictures of their kids in Brigade attire and we will post them on the video board before and during the game. Submit your entries to jwronski@monumentalsports.com with your child’s first name and age. Please have all submissions in by 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 9.

Atlantic City welcomed their new team with open arms on Saturday afternoon, as the Atlantic City Blackjacks defeated the Columbus Destroyers, 42-35, on Saturday at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall.  The Blackjacks travel to Washington to take on the Washington Valor.

The Albany Empire (2-0) travel to  the Wells Fargo Center to take on the Philadelphia Soul on Saturday, May 11 at 7 pm looking to go improve on last weeks game.

Now to our PROBLEM League, the AAL,

What can you say about the American Arena League that you haven’t already heard 1000 times! Bad Ownership. No Direction. Missing Money. Bad Teams. Its a PR Nightmare and the people that are getting hurt are the PLAYERS. It must be hard when you give 100% of your energy and get 0 Back! Adding to the League issue is management.

Yesterday Rumors starting floating around about the Folding of the New England Bobcats. Just days after announcing personnel Moves welcome Brandon Perry as our new Head of Football Operations. , the team is in HIDING.

This morning we reached out to Head Coach Julien Robinson,  and its with disgust that LockedIN Magazine is announcing that the New England Bobcats are no longer a team. Coach Robinson is quoted as saying “It’s a Sad day for the Players and community” and that people deserve better.

Multiple reports of financial issues are popping up and this again reminds us of the Tim Vein situation.

Here is the Rub to all of this. The Bobcats had the rest of their games at HOME! They had Cheap rent on the Arena. Why not let the people that Started the JOURNEY finish it.

I am asking all our fans to FILL IN THE FORM BELOW and LETS EMAIL THE LEAGUE Pushing to allow the rest of their games be fun under LEAGUE Control.

THIS FORM WILL BE EMAILED DIRECTLY TO THE AAL LEAGUE OFFICE

Another issue with this is the West Virginia Roughriders were scheduled to be playing the Bobcats this weekend, and without this game, it FURTHER makes the Playoff run odd for the remaining teams.

The GEORGIA DOOM look to improve on Saturday as they host CAROLINA COWBOYZ! The JERSEY FLIGHT look to keep the BURGH DEFENDERS Winless. But Look for this to be a CLOSE GAME. And in the Battle for Carolina, the CAROLINA
PREDATORS travel to Florence to take on the CAROLINA HAVOC.

This is a 4 Team race between the HEROES, the HAVOC, the ENERGY and the ROUGHRIDERS

Maybe we take these 4 teams and merge with the NAL?  Wouldn’t that make sense!

Well….  here you have it.

The Good, The Bad.. and the AAL, Opps.. The Ugly!
