Jacksonville Armada FC owner Robert Palmer Inches Closer to Downtown Stadium
Downtown Jacksonville Florida is inching away from getting a little bit bigger as the downtown entertainment district is inching closer to a deal to bring a soccer stadium to the area.
Jacksonville Armada FC Owner Robert Palmer promised the city years ago that he was here to build and today his dream is about to reach fulfillment.
The City and RP Sports Investments Inc, Owner of the Jacksonville Armada are about to enter into an option agreemnt for land located along A. Phillip Randolph Blvd and the Arlington Expressway. RPSI would pay $5,000 to enter the option agreement, which would give it the right to purchase about 5 acres for $1.
RPSI would have to close on the land by Jan. 31, 2023, or ownership would revert back to the city.
Construction on a 25,000 to 175,000 square feet of office space and a soccer stadium “suitable for professional soccer play” with at least 2,500 seats and 100 to 200 parking spaces would have to start by Jan. 31, 2024 and substantially complete construction by Jan. 31, 2025.
