Reserves Score BIG in International Friendly On Saturday
Locked in a stalemate with the Puerto Rican national soccer team on Saturday at Dillon Stadium, offensive reinforcements for Hartford Athletic came in the form of Jose Angulo, Mads Jorgensen, Sebastian Dalgaard and Danny Barrera, a quartet that accounted for four second-half goals to help Hartford to a 5-1 win in the international friendly and Phil Zolla and Capture The Moment Photography was there with My4one2 keeping our #Soccer fans #LockedIN
The friendly was played in front of 4,685 fans, a mix of Hartford Athletic and Puerto Rico supporters. Part of the proceeds from the friendly go to the San Juan Center’s hurricane relief fund.
Hartford scored first in the 25th minute. Milan attempted to clear the ball from his own end, but the kick fell short and landed at the feet of Hartford’s Dalgaard, who passed it forward to Wojciech Wojcik in the box. Wojcik kicked one past the left of Milan to put Hartford on the board.
Puerto Rico answered nearly immediately, as Gerard Diaz scored an equalizer in the 27th minute. Ryan Lopez dribbled into the box and chipped the ball up to Diaz, who headed the ball past Hartford keeper Cody Cropper. Cropper, 26, is on loan from the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer.
