Get Ready For the TaxSlayer Bowl

Texas A&M will play North Carolina State in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl on Dec. 31

Jimbo Fisher is visiting Jacksonville Florida for New Years as the 8-4 Texas A&M will play North Carolina State in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida, at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 31.  N.C. State is 9-3, including 5-3 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Wolfpack’s losses were to Clemson 41-7, Syracuse 51-41 and Wake Forest 27-23.

It will be the first meeting between Texas A&M and the Wolfpack. It will be Texas A&M’s second appearance in the Gator Bowl. Paul “Bear” Bryant’s final game as the Aggies’ head coach was a 3-0 loss to Tennessee in the 1957 Gator Bowl on Dec. 28, 1957.

Join the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl for a New Year’s Eve Celebration you won’t want to miss. Start the day off in downtown Jacksonville for the VyStar New Year’s Eve Run at 2:00 P.M. After the run, start the tailgating off when we open the gates an hour early for a Happy Hour inside of TIAA BAnk Field starting at 4:30. The 74th annual TaxSlayer Gator Bowl kicks off under the lights at 7:30 on ESPN and will feature N.C. State vs. Texas A&M. Immediately after the trophy presentation platinum-selling recording artist Cole Swindell will take the stage. The night ends with fireworks at midnight to ring in 2019.

Team Pep Rallies are set for Sunday, December 3oth from 3:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M at the  Jacksonville Beach Seawalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach.  This year’s pep rally will feature both TaxSlayer Gator Bowl participating university marching bands and cheer groups as well as the Parris Island Marine Band. The event is free to the public and is in conjunction with the annual Deck the Chairs event at Jacksonville Beach.

4:00 PM: N.C. State Pep Rally
4:30 PM: Parris Island Marine Band
5:00 PM: BGA Band (Opelika HS)
6:00 PM: Texas A&M Pep Rally
