Brigade set to make third consecutive postseason appearance
The Baltimore Brigade (6-4) became the third team in the Arena Football League to clinch a playoff berth and will appear in the postseason for the third consecutive season. The Brigade secured their position on Saturday, July 6 after the Atlantic City Blackjacks fell to the Philadelphia Soul.
The postseason is following the same format as in 2018 with the top four teams advancing to the playoffs, which will take place over the course of two weekends. There will be a pair of home-and-home series between the teams during the weekend of July 27 and the weekend of August 3, with the highest-seeded team choosing which weekend they host. The two teams with the highest aggregate scores at the end of these series will advance to ArenaBowl XXXII, held on the weekend of August 11.
The Albany Empire (8-2) and Philadelphia Soul (7-4) have already clinched playoff positions, which leaves one spot unclaimed. Both the Washington Valor (5-5) and the Atlantic City Blackjacks (4-7) are in contention for the remaining playoff spot. Seeds will be determined at a later date.
The Brigade take on the Valor for their final home game of the regular season on Saturday, July 13 in Baltimore, MD at Royal Farms Arena at 7:00 p.m. The current series is tied 1-1 with each team winning at their home arena. The game will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Washington, ESPN 3 and the ESPN app.
