Arena Football Playoff Races Are Shaping Up Who’s Ready
Ah, Playoffs. Its what all sports players love the most. You train all year long HOPING to get to the Playoffs and a League Title shot. The Arena Football League(AFL) kicks off this weekend and the National Arena League is counting down the games. Let’s look and see whats going on.
In the AFL, the final weekend of the regular season did not disappoint. The Washington Valor snapped a three-game losing streak and beat the Baltimore Brigade, 42-35 in their final regular season home game. The top spot came down to the second game of the day, as the Albany Empire beat the Philadelphia Soul, 71-57. Matchups are now set for the playoffs and all five games of the postseason will be shown on CBS Sports Network.
Here is the postseason seeding:
Albany Empire (8-4)
Baltimore Brigade (7-5)
Philadelphia Soul (7-5)
Washington Valor (2-10)
Game 1 of Home and Home Series:
Albany Empire at Washington Valor on Saturday, July 14 at 7 p.m. ET
Baltimore Brigade at Philadelphia Soul on Sunday, July 15 at 6 p.m. ET
Game 2 of Home and Home Series:

*If the teams split Games 1 and 2 and the aggregate score is tied following regulation of the second game, the game will move to a standard overtime period to determine which team will advance.
ArenaBowl XXXI will take place the weekend of July 28 and be hosted by the participating team with the highest regular season home attendance average.
In the National Arena League, The Carolina Cobras (7-4) are back in action following their final bye week of the season, taking on the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks (0-11) at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, this Saturday, July 14. The Cobras are looking to clinch the final playoff berth this Saturday, needing only one win in their final four games to do so.
The Steelhawks need to keep this game close and to work on creating turnovers. The only real question about the game is will the Steelhawks continue their streak. 0-12 sounds Horrible!
The Maine Mammoths (3-7) host the number one Columbus Lions (8-3) in a game that could determine whether the Mammoths earn a ticket to the playoffs or not and is LockedIN Magazine’s game of the week. The Mammoths have faced the Lions once this season where they lost 55-34. The Mammoths have currently won their last two matchups at home against the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks on June 16, and their most recent victory over the Carolina Cobras on June 30th.
The Bigger news from the NAL, is that some news of EXPANSION may come as early as today!
As far as the American Arena League goes, no news on WHEN this All-Star game is going to happen and Where, but rumors are we will have an answer later this week1
